Men’s Preview

In 2014, Jorge Maravilla ran happy and strong to set a new Bandera course record at 8:02. The record has been reset three of the last four years. Perhaps time for someone to go sub-8 for the first time at Bandera?

While Jorge was registered, he has withdrawn so the favorite mantle will be firmly on David Laney, if it wasn’t already. Paul Terranova returns after taking 4th last year and will be joined by many tough runners vying for the podium, USTAF Championships and Western entry slots.

Jason Bryant’s previous four trips to the state of Texas have resulted in a 3rd place finish, so he has some history on his side. Joe Uhan also has a 3rd place finish to his name at Bandera and expect him to bounce back after a tough Bandera last year.

Jared Hazen’s last trip to Texas was rewarded with a phenomenal showing at Rocky Raccoon (3rd – 13:57). Eric Senseman, fresh off a 3rd place showing at JFK 50, makes his debut. Tsutomu Nagata is fairly new the trails but took 3rd place at Japan’s highly competitive Lake Saroma 100k in 6:44 in 2013.

The deep field is sure to throw up some surprises and there is bound to be a runners pushing for the top 10 that are not on this list.
