Head Hunter 10 km Trail Run – 2012 Results

Swim goggles anyone?

The second race of the Forge Trail Series, Head Hunter 10 km, required a last-minute venue change which also added a bit more adventure than most expected for this trail run – a short swim. Due to the recent rains, the water was up at a couple water crossing on this 10 km muddy scamper that required more than getting those toes wet.

Leesville, Louisiana runner, Edwin Koenck, and The Hulk Hoogewind of Baton Rouge had the fast feet and some good swim form to lead all to the finish line. Ewin’s 7:33 pace created a small gap from the green one, to win the male race in 46:47.

Race Reports and pics

  • “We then hit  a swampy section where we went through thigh deep water, then out of that into a very muddy area. Footing was non existent, and the rolling terrain meant hoping I wouldn’t slip. Then we hit it.” by Brenton @ The Ale Runner
