EB Live! – Cactus Rose 100 Live Coverage…I hope
By David Hanenburg on 26 Oct 2011 at 2:21 pm | Tagged as: Live Coverage
What can you say about the weather this weekend for the old-skool Tejas Trails ultra called Cactus Rose?
Temps will range from 38F – 74F (sunny) throughout the weekend. Low winds.
Oh baby, it is lookin’ near perfect for an epic running adventure. I may be freezin’ my bumper Friday and Saturday (if I get to bed) evening in the tent, but it will be worth it!

One tip for those that will be walking or may walk through the nighttime hours – Bring some layers along in your drop bags. When that sun goes down Saturday evening after a day workin’ that body, the air can feel mighty cold. Walking – great! Walking while freezing you a** off – not as much fun. I have been there.
Live Cactus Rose Coverage – Maybe
If the wireless network stars align and with the amazing partnership from the dominators at Tejas Trails and Event Data Solutions, I hope to provide a good amount of dirty tread action of this adventure that will have over 200 runners ready to go after the 100, 50 mile, or 100 mile relay finish. From some of the chatter I have heard, the action is guaranteed to be extra spicy!
Check out the EB Live! page for some more insight on how YOU can be involved in the coverage and race discussion.
Go No-Go
I will update here Friday evening if we are a GO as I found a data signal. Oh great wireless data gods, lookin’ for a little love.
The coverage will hopefully start Saturday morning at very early o’clock!
UPDATE 10/28 – I have confirmed limited coverage from Equestrian Aid Station…still trying to verify the Lodge (start/finish)!!! I may have to stand on one leg but we are going to give it a try! See you in the morning!!
And in case you didn’t see it on the Endurance Buzz Facebook page – Here is a fun little showcase of the course – Cactus Rose Flyover.
Be active – Feel the buzz!

Dude, are you running? That’s some quick recovery bro.
No running for me. I ran my first 4 miles since PH this morning.
Hopefully plenty of race coverage! If that falls through I am sure I will see where Joe needs some help and enjoy the vibe.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Hey Liza – Cool! See ya there!
