Wee-Chi-Tah Trail Run – 2010 Summer Results

Last weekend, over 300 runners (new record) played during what may have been the last blast of summer heat at the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail Run in Wichita Falls, Texas. This event is part of the big Hotter ‘N Hell weekend and included road and mountain bike races and rides (up to 100 miles).

For those that wanted to run long, you could gallop you way through the half marathon. The short course adventure was 10 km.

The website doesn’t have a lot of goodies for the course. What I do know is the course wiggles on the Wee-Chi-Tah trail within the city and is promoted as having many short, steep climbs and scream inducing descents.

Course  Map – although not sure how the course exactly goes.

Half marathon

The top three males ran sub-7 min/miles to finish the trail half mary in under 1 hour and 30 minutes. Koby Styles flew at an average of 6:29 min/mile and won with a 1:24:55 (chip time). A bit over three minutes back, Matt Dunlavy finished in 1:27:17.
