National Running Day 2010

Today is National Running Day “…promoting running as a healthy, easy, and accessible form of exercise.”

Running – simple, yet transformative.

(Running adventures back in 2002: Tri and Adventure Race)

Here are just a few ways that running and endurance sports has positively impacted my life over the last 10+ years:

  • Reacquainted myself with the joy of movement – Damn this is fun, even when it hurts (maybe a bit less fun)!
  • Inspired an awareness leap on holistic health; mind, body, spirit.
  • Visited amazing local and national parts of the country with my family that I would have never purposely visited or didn’t even know existed. Coeur d’Alene? Where in France is that?
  • Met and have become friends with some pretty amazing, supportive, and simply good people.
  • Hearing and seeing other people that have made a huge positive change in their live with running or endurance sports as the catalyst. Inspiring and flippin’ cool!
  • Develop and practice life skills: Consistency – Patience – Acceptance – Forgiveness – Determination.

What are some of the ways running has positively impacted your life?

Lace ’em up and enjoy some miles today…and share the joys of the active lifestyle with others, as you never know what will be the trigger that inspires others to join the Movement Revolution!

Be active – Feel the buzz!

And don’t forget another event, World Run Day, is November 7th this year. The event asks that you run and make a donation directly to your favorite charity. Looking for small groups to form events or run as an individual.
