Destination Ultramarathon: Jungle Marathon 2009 Stage 5

Destination ultramarathon weekend series continues with Stage 5 (Stage 1Stage 2Stage 3, Stage 4) of the Jungle Marathon held in the beautiful and challenging jungle in Brazil.

Stage 5

The monster day has arrived. Stage 5 leads athletes from Tauri to Aramanai in 89.38 km. If you still have the speed you will finish this before nightfall. For everyone else, through the night and into the next day.

“The strategy for today is…I don’t really know to be honest…”

Ultra athletes once again, get their feet soaked right from the start.

“Today was definitely the most extreme thing I have ever done and the most  dangerous thing…”

What happens when the stage winner arrives at the finish area before the race organizers and finish line is set up?

Be sure to check out the stage 5 video by adambrown.tv. FYI, this video is the longest so far but enjoyable and at times uncomfortable to watch.

Why we do the things we do…

Quite the stage, and it’s not over yet…for those still able to keep going.

Hope you are having a great weekend.
