Larry Yeagle Trail Marathon 2010 Results

On March 13, a trail marathon, 10 mile, and 5 km event took place at Lincoln Parish park, just outside of Ruston Louisiana called the Larry Yeagle Trail marathon. A total of 54 trail runners were ready to play.

Race organizer, Aubrey Hogan, wanted to host a race and find a way to honor Larry Yeagle, his junior high running coach, and “…say thank you to an old short man who took time to show he really cared about an incredibly awkward junior high kid.” And the race was born.

The Lincoln Parish park trail is one of the nation’s top mountain biking courses and is mostly single-track with some jeep roads. Trail runners also get to get to enjoy the standard trail fare of most events in our region; hills, rocks, and roots.

12 excited trail runners started the marathon adventure with Keith Richards rippin’ through the course in the male race in a time of 3:49:41. The uncomfortable visual that sticks in my head is Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones holding a cigarette and running the trail. I assume it is not the same guy. 😉

I just say the results from the race (Larry Yeagle) back in march and that I came in 3rd for my age among women. Did I miss out on a little prize 🙂
