Hey Paul - Cross Timbers is no easy finish and add a 50 miler two weeks before...well, you have yourself a challenge.

Congrats on still getting it done.

I have belatedly discovered my "Tough As Nails" award! Thanks, I think. I definitely need some guidance next time around, going for the 50-mile Texas slam. Two weeks between 50 milers is tough, and I'm not sure how to handle it or prepare for it. At least I shouldn't have any trouble beating my course time at Cross Timbers 2011!
Best, PM

The area where you "get on all fours to climb up the short, steep section" used to be Sonofabitch Hill. It was required to utter than phrase as you scrambled up. I believe it was just a short way into the trail as you headed from Cedar Bayou to Juniper Point.
