With two weeks to go before the start of the Rockledge Rumble trail run, the 15 km and 30 km races are full! Insider reports say this will be the biggest field ever assembled for these races.
The 50 km race only has a handful or so slots left. If you want to get in on some dirty trail fun with a great group of people up in the Dallas area, wait no longer.
[update 11/04: The entire race is now full!]
Registration: online and mail in
Runners of all levels are beginning to taste the dirt…and like it. (myself included!)
As with all growth, it has its positive and negative aspects. Sign up a year or many months in advance for a race? What? Yes, it is happening and will probably continue to increase. Ironman triathlon has been dealing with this for many years. For some trail runners, sign-up is a couple week out decision. That flexibility will probably be going away especially at the more popular events. With the growing popularity of a sport, more events are created in which to explore our world. Yea!
With the inconveniences of registering for a races multiple climatic seasons prior to the actual event or possibly a year before, we must elevate ourselves and look at the beauty of this.
People of all age levels are moving the body and developing a special relationship with nature. The mind/body benefits of exercise can positively affect all areas of a person’s life – for the better. By developing a relationship with nature, we learn to appreciate it, respect it, and want to protect it.
With the personal and global world changing potential of this I say, FILL ‘EM UP!
Be active – Feel the buzz!

Ooops…..waited too long to sign up. Have fun!
DP – You could always sign up for the 50 km!
A few spots left. You could then drop after 30 km if desired as this is the out and back distance.
Diabolical idea, DH! I think I’ll wait for the next one, though.
I tried.
