Trail Running Course

2009 Leadville 100 Trail Run South Midwest Region Results

The Leadville 100 mile trail run took place over the weekend and consists of a 50 mile out and back course on forest trails and some mountain roads within the beautiful state of Colorado. The lowest point of the course was at a high 9200 feet with the highest point at 12600 feet.

Aerial View of Course

The Endurables put together a cool google video that provides a aerial view of the Leadville 100 trail run course. It can give you an idea of the amount of relatively flat running and when the serious climbing begins. It takes about 6-7 minutes to reach the 50 mile point in the video.  It also appears to show the aid stations and some mile markers. Hope Pass looks a bit daunting. Up…up…up.

Video Report

I am always of fan of cool video reports/experiences showing the sights, sounds, and emotions that follow an ultra event. After a bit of digging, I happened to find one that I think you will enjoy.

Here is a video report of John Fegyveresi’s 2009 Leadville 100 experience. This is his second go at the distance within that last five weeks. You can also check out his text report here. John, congrats on your finish!
