Texas Trail Running Clubs

cross_timbers_trail5If you want to accelerate your learning about trail running, share the adventures with other folks that like to run on the dirt, and learn about local races, a trail running club may be just what you are looking for.

I was able to find three clubs in Texas that focus on playing on the dirt. In a state of this size I was kind of surprised to only find three.

North Texas Trail Runners

The Dirt:

  • Greater Dallas – Fort Worth region.
  • Private yahoo group to communication with fellow members (training, racing, etc).
  • 3-4 club runs/events and two sponsored races (Rockledge Rumble and Grasslands) throughout the year.
  • Four club meetings and a “blinger” of a Christmas party.
  • Maps and descriptions of running trails in the region.
  • Regional and national race calendar.
  • Low-cost membership dues.
