Life Update and Funny Ultrarunning Video

As static as we sometimes wish life to be, it is definitely more dynamic than we realize.

I haven’t been posting at all during the last eight days because my father had a surprise cardiac arrest while riding a stationary bike in their basement. Fortunately my mother heard him fall and police/paramedics arrived minutes later. He was in a coma with full life support and we weren’t sure if we would ever talk to him again. We were told by the cardiologist that my father had a 5% chance of surviving. Not favorable odds.

Over the next seven days my father progressed through an amazing recovery journey. This journey traveled through wakefulness, completely off life support, talking, thinking, eating, walking, and finally heading home with a new piece of equipment – a defibrillator. The defibrillator will monitor his heart and if it would lose its electrical pulse again, the defibrillator would shock his heart to hopefully return it back to normal functioning.

Dad ready to head home

Our entire family is very grateful for this amazing recovery and now try to return to some sense of normalcy. For me this includes getting back to my family (wife and son), running, and creating material on that hopefully provides some value for you.

To help get us ready for the weekend, I thought a good laugh would be in order.  Carl and Karl over at Running Superfans put together a chuckler and somewhat truthful video on the ultrarunning experience. These guys have created some funny stuff.

I hope you smile as much as I did.

Have a great weekend!

Create and live the life you desire.
