Why do you run?
This can be an interesting question to reflect on. Running has a fairly constant form and method; one foot in front of the other. Yet, I believe we all have our own unique reasons why we participate in this activity.
So this very simple question may not always have a simple answer.
After a bit of thought, I came up with a few reasons why I run.
- to enjoy the outdoors and nature
- the health benefit bang for the amount of time spent
- to enjoy time with friends
- to visit and experience new cities and locations
- to share in experiences (races) with like minded people
- to stretch and test my perceived physical and mental limits
- the simplicity and convenience
- low participation cost
- it is a reminder of the wonderment and beauty of life and people
- the endorphin buzz
Here is a cool video to help kick-off your weekend and start the thought juices so you can answer this questions for yourself.
Please add a comment and share the reason(s) why you run.
Have a great weekend, be active, and feel the buzz!
