Yes, some treadmills do have a mind of their own.

Have you had any wacky experiences on the treadmill?
I have had the treadmill completely shut-off on me during a hard interval session. That was fun! In another instance, I increased the incline to 2% and the treadmill kept going up to 15% and would not come back down. Sometimes you just got to laugh!
