Running Strategy of a Professional in the Final Miles

Over the weekend Ironman Triathlon World Champion Chris Mccormack won the Wildflower Half Ironman event (1.2 mile swim - 56 mile bike - 13.1 mile run) and in this video he describes his run strategy within the last couple miles of the race as he was running side-by-side with another athlete, Eneko LLanos.
Realize, this is after about 3 hours and 45 minutes of racing! I don’t know if I would have any blood sugar left for contemplating a strategy. Fascinating stuff!
Not bad, popping off a 1:14:33 for the half mary!
Enjoy!
