A New Training Block Begins

Last week consisted of getting a bit more consistency in the exercise routine. I was able to get in five workouts (3 run / 1 bike / 1 room painted). Each workout was low volume and easy pace as I want to make sure I am completely recovered from the last four months. I have many big events coming up in the fall/winter and want to make sure that I am both mentally and physically ready for the challenge.

I am now starting a new four month training block that will end with the Superior 50 mile trail race in the beginning of September. Just thinking about that race gets me a bit excited!
The build-up is going to be fairly easy for the next couple weeks as I have a little tweak in my left knee and my left hip is a bit tight since Boston. I will try and implement whatever little tricks I know or can find, in order to get back to 100% health. If you know of any tricks, please share!
I am looking forward to getting in some solid weekly miles again. I enjoy the training process!
I have also decided to drop the 50 km run in July. It is a short loop course and running 10 loops doesn’t interest me at the moment. Maybe I will change my mind, but for now it is off the list.
The Weekly Low-Down:
run: 14.92 miles (3 sessions: 3, 5.50, 3.42)
bike:45 mins
weights/core: 1 paint-the-room
Happy Training!
