5 Miler Treadmill Workout #1
Posted by David Hanenburg on 06 Feb 2008 at 9:01 pm | Tagged as: running, training
If you are looking for some variety to your treadmill workouts, here is one of my 5 mile workouts from last week.
This workout basically consists of alternating 1/4 mile hill and flat-land intervals every mile. I felt this was a good workout for me to start adapting to hill and speed work again, without stressing the body too much.
Since everyone runs at different speeds, I have used generic labels that you can associate with a specific pace.
Effort Levels:
Easy – able to talk to the person on the treadmill next to you
Focused – looking straight ahead, minimal talking
Hard – no desire or ability to talk
Workout #1:
After the warm-up, each ‘Effort Level/Incline Grade’ entry represents .25 miles.

I am planning to post a new 5 mile treadmill workout every one or two weeks for your training pleasure…or pain!
Happy Training!
