First Race of Season - First DNS
Posted by David Hanenburg on 02 Feb 2008 at 9:32 am | Tagged as: race reports
My first race of the season (President’s 5k) was going to be this morning but life happened instead. My son little-G (10 1/2 months old) started vomiting Friday afternoon and it continued on a few times throughout the night.
The race was going to be a family affair as my wife was going to run the 5k as well. G was going to come with me in the Baby Jogger. After a brief discussion with my wife last night after cleaning up some vomit on both G and my wife, it became obvious that G’s health would not be ready for a 5k in the morning. Done - no race for us - DNS (Did Not Start).
My “race” this morning consisted of making breakfast for my wife and I, removing clothes from the wash machine that had been vomited on over the last day, playing and cuddling with G, and finally getting G and my wife down for a nap.
Hopefully if things stabilize later today, I plan to get outside for a 5 mile run.
Please send some healing vibes! Thank you!
