The 2008 Season
Posted by David Hanenburg on 22 Jan 2008 at 8:03 pm | Tagged as: road running, running, trail running
I am pretty excited to focus on running this year which will include both road and trail running.
I really would like to improve my trail running and grow from my rookie races and mistakes from last fall. The Boston marathon is also going to be extremely special as it will be my first time participating in the big event. To remain healthy the entire year is also a major goal.
Planning out the year is a lot of fun for some reason. It is almost like you receive a little piece of the event before you even race it. Then it plants a little inspirational seed within your soul to keep you motivated throughout the year.
There are many races on the schedule I have never done before that will make it an even more exciting year.
Well, my race year has been planned out for over a month now, so here is where you will see me lacing them up and hopefully staying up (falling issues) throughout the year.
February:
- Presidents 10 km / 5 km run
- Cross Timbers 26 mile trail run
March:
- Tal Morrison Classic 15 km / 5 km run
- Grasslands 26 mile or 50 mile trail run
April:
- Flapjack Best Times 5 mile run
- Boston Marathon
June:
- Bloomin 4 Mile run
July:
- Independence 5 km run
- El Scorcho 50 km / 25 km run
August:
- 2 X 3 Relay run

October:

I hope you enjoy planning out your 2008 season and I wish you the best in health and fitness!
Feel the BuzZ!

Glad to hear you’ll be runnning El Scorcho. I’m a co-founder and co-race director of the event. Make sure to sign up early, as we are using a tiered system this year, and the price will continually increase as more folks register.
